Front-end Developer

Summary

Reporting to Head of Digital, we’re looking to hire an ambitious developer with a focus on front-end. You’ll be our first dev hire so we’re looking for someone who can take a lead on dev jobs.

Your role:

You will be our go to for platform development and you will get to work with a great mix of technologies. We are platform agnostic, and you will be developing small to enterprise level e-commerce stores on multiple platforms, bringing designs to life with modern front-end techniques. You’ll play a lead role in scoping, briefing, delivering and testing functionality to deliver brilliant customer experiences that drive conversion rates. 


 

Must-haves

 

  • Front-end web development technologies such as JavaScript, React, AngularJS, CSS3, HTML5, Vue 
  • Experience with Shopify and/or BigCommerce with a desire to develop new skills 
  • Awareness of web performance practices and SEO elements 
  • Experience managing workflows and version control 
  • Ability to work with third party APIs e.g. payment gateways, ERP, order management, CRM 
  • Understanding of and willingness to develop an agile working environment 

 


Nice to haves (and bonus points)

 

 

  • Full-stack ability – PHP, Ruby, Python 
  • Experience working with Adobe XD (or Sketch/Figma etc) 
  • Understanding of continuous development 
  • Design experience (or at least experience of working closely with designers) 

 


Personal Skills 

 

We’re looking for someone with around 3+ years’ commercial experience. However, ability is more important to us than years’ experience so if you have strong examples of e-Commerce sites you’ve built with technologies such as Shopify / BigCommerce / WooCommerce then we want to hear from you whatever your experience.


 

  • A passion for creating great UX with brilliant UI 
  • Strong character who relishes the prospect of working in a growing agency and keen to lead play a leading role in our dev function 
  • Good collaborator – Works well with project managers, account managers, designers, marketing. 
  • Takes pride in their work, with high standards and a keen attention to detail.  
  • Comfortable having technical discussions with clients – Client facing is not the primary purpose of the role but there will be times you’ll need to get in front of clients. 
  • Happy to share knowledge and experience with colleagues and not afraid to question approaches to find the best way of doing things for the agency and clients.
     


Location: Office based – We’re conveniently located on King Street in Manchester City Centre. Hours 9-5, (9-4 Friday) with flexibility.
